January 13, 2001 Major Ivy Removal Project near Waterfall
A crew of volunteers from AmeriCorps
and Friends of Frink Park led by EarthCorps
tackled a major ivy removal along the slopes south of the
waterfall. We made incredible progress with over 300 hours of
volunteer time. We even found a resident (pictured on the
left) who appreciated our effort to restore the native
plants in the park. Aside from removing
ivy and protecting the slope, we also removed a lot of garbage.
The work will be continued with more volunteers on Martin Luther
King Day on 1/15. Meet us at the waterfall from 9am - 1pm.
