Ceremony to Honor Jim Diers, Director of Dept. of Neighborhoods

Saturday, January 12th 11:30am

Friends of Frink Park was on hand to help Jim Diers add his letter of resignation  to the celebrity compost (notice the steam) at the Interbay P-Patch.  Many of us are still in a state of shock wondering what Mayor-elect Greg Nickels was thinking when he asked Jim to step down.  We are pleased to see Jim will be a continual source of inspiration for all of us who support community activism and revitalizing neighborhoods – but no longer from City Hall.

Please write a letter to Mayor Greg Nickels and Deputy Mayor Tim Ceis to protest their dismissal of Jim Diers. Jim Diers was recently recognized as the Public Employee of the Year by the Municipal League and has headed the Dept. of Neighborhoods through three mayors prior to Nickels’ election. Regards, Jon Jaffe
